The last few weeks, the Apis Mercantile hive has been buzzing with activity as we put the finishing touches on our latest product: Apis Mercantile’s 1000mg Full-Spectrum CBD Sublingual Tincture. Even with an enormous and ever-growing list of available CBD products, sublingual tinctures have become a mainstay for hemp-product consumers. Sublingual tinctures are meant to be taken orally, with a few drops administered under the tongue. Held under the tongue, the CBD is rapidly absorbed within a short amount of time, allowing for quick interaction with the Endocannabinoid System.
While ingesting cannabidiol is a common way to receive CBD into the body, sublingual tinctures have become increasingly popular for their ability to bypass the digestive system. The mucous membranes located under the tongue are ideal receptors for CBD because of the large amount of capillaries and blood vessels located there. Sublingual administration of CBD is heralded as one of the most effective ways of introducing cannibdiol to the bloodstream as it bypasses the digestive tract and the liver. By preventing metabolization by the liver, sublingual CBD users can prevent significant degradation prior to entering the bloodstream. Proponents of this delivery method report needing a lower concentration of CBD to achieve the same results.
Apis Mercantile’s CBD tincture is a full-spectrum product, providing the synergistic effects of a robust cannabinoid profile that is often referred to as “the entourage effect.” This is part of the “whole plant” or “whole food” theory that the benefits of the cannabinoids are most effectively realized when experienced in concert. Our tincture contains CO2 extracted full-spectrum hemp extract, so there are no residual solvents. The base of the tincture is made of coconut-derived MCT oil, which is loaded with beneficial fatty acids. Lastly, our tincture contains propolis, or “bee glue,” imbued with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits. Propolis is a sticky resinous substance made by combining the anti-bacterial saps and resins of various plants and trees with beeswax and salivary excretions from honey bees. The honey bee’s hive is lined with propolis to protect the colony from bacteria and disease and has a litany of benefits outside the hive. Propolis has been used in medicine for centuries and has become a mainstay of top of the line body care products for its numerous purported benefits.Apis Mercantile’s Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture combines the benefits of 1000mg of cannabidiol with fatty acids and the incredible properties of propolis. We are excited to add the sublingual tincture to our expanding product line, and are happy to share these products from our hive to yours. At Apis Mercantile, we put the bee in CBD!
